SeepeopleS is an original touring and recording act poised to make giant steps in the immediate future. Formed in Allston MA in 2000, they have been gaining an intensely loyal fanbase in almost every market they have hit since their inception. Known as an explosive and inspirational live act, SeepeopleS combines elements of trance, funk, pop, rock, dub and electronica, creating a sound that is as intense and aggressive as it is eclectic and atmospheric. These aspects, combined with innovative and thought provoking lyrics and anthemic sing-along choruses are why SeepeopleS are simply unforgettable.
Much of the band's success has been largely due to the successful sales and promotion of their debut album FOR THE GOOD OF THE NATION, featuring several tracks with Dana Colley (Morphine, Twinemen) on saxophone. One of the tracks, "Oceans of the Abandoned," has been chosen for use in the upcoming film "60 Minutes Til Freedom," which debuts at the New York Film Festival and the Los Angeles International Film Festival in the fall of 2003. The fact that the album has been so well received in the press (see attached reviews) hasn't hurt either. Currently SeepeopleS are in the final stages of recording the follow up record to Nation', entitled THE CORN SYRUP CONSPIRACY. The album consists of fifteen new songs and features musical contributions from Peter Pisarczyk and Billy Mims of the Original P (Parliament). Peter will also be touring with SeepeopleS this fall in support of the record.
All of this has helped elevate SeepeopleS into the realm of serious music making. They have shared the stage with many diverse acts such as Parliament, Reel Big Fish, Cracker, Culture, Sizzla, John Brown's Body, Drums and Tuba, Max Creek, Zen Tricksters, Percy Hill, Catch 22, Dr. Didg, Reid Genauer, Club D'elf, Schleigho, AMS, Jiggle, AGP, Babaloo, Ulu, members of Morphine, members of God Street Wine, and members of the Jerry Garcia Band to name a short few. As an east coast touring act, the band has been booked at venues like the House of Blues (Boston) Roxy (Boston) Pour House (NC) Lion's Den (NYC) Elbow Room (NYC) Metronome (VT) Ziggy's (NC) Tobacco Rd. (NYC) Cumberlands (SC)- as well as numerous shows all over ME, PA, NJ, and NH. SeepeopleS have been booked at many festivals over the years including Soul Flow2002, Harvest Dance2002, Bumstock2001, Puffin Fest2001, PondapaloozaFF2002, Block Island Music Festival2001-2003, Harvest Fest2002, Orange Bowl2002, Vermont Alternative Energy Fest2002-03, PICAfest2000, Apple Krisp2003, Freedom Fest2003, Peace Jam2003 and the Maine Vocals Marijuana Rally2003. The band played a major label showcase for New Talent Inc. in 2001, and also played the CMJ Music Marathon in 2001.
With two east coast tours in 3 months, SeepeopleS is currently planning an extensive national tour to support the release of THE CORN SYRUP CONSPIRACY. This summer they are also being featured in the "on the verge" column in Relix magazine, indicating a bright future for SeepeopleS-a band on the rise and ready to make some serious noise.
