This dynamic & ever-popular entertainment conspiracy
features 10 of the top swing musicians who faithfully
celebrate the style and substance of the best of the Golden Era of
Las Vegas lounge and jump swing - Louis Prima & Keely
Smith, Sam Butera and Woody Herman, to name a few.
With both feet firmly planted in swingin' classics, The
New Morty Show has also dived into the bizarre with
swing versions of songs from pop groups such as
Metallica, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols and Billy Idol.
This, along with their high-energy original material, has placed
The New Morty Show into a class of their own.
The New Morty Show's countless sold-out performances
have been witnessed across the West Coast. Sell out venues
have included San Francisco's classic venue The Fillmore and
Bimbo's 365 Club, as well as Los Angeles' hippest night spots
including The Viper Room and Derby. And what place is more
appropriate for the group than Las Vegas? The elegant
Mirage played host to the group on New Year's Eve
'97, and the amazing New York New York Hotel and
Casino has welcomed the band as regularly featured act.
The New Morty Show, whose debut album, "Mortyfied,"
(Slimstyle Records) was released in March 1998, was
also featured in the Francis Ford Coppolla film "Jack,"
starring Robin Williams. Band members open the movie in
a hilarious scene filmed at Bimbo's. More recently, lead
singer Vise Grip was featured in the box office hit "The
Game," starring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn.
From the smoky hipster dives to the classy hotels on the
hill, The New Morty Show brings together a wide variety of
enthusiastic swing fans, which range from young punk rockers
to grandparents - who are looking for the real thing - top
notch entertainers who jump, jive & wail, and who put on an
outrageous stage show with verve and fun for everyone.
"The New Morty Show...doing the best duets since Louis Prima and Keely Smith in the golden era of
Las Vegas lounge acts. Not to be missed, lounge lizards"
