FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Moses Guest Simultaneously Releases
New CD Guest Motel and Live DVD Edit
30-City Tour Starts June 17
On July 27, 2004, Moses Guest will release their new studio album, Guest Motel, which overlays intriguing philosophical lyrics on astonishing instrumental acumen. On the same day Edit, a DVD of their captivating live performance is also being released. These two discs showcase the two opposite, but equally adept talents of the band: tight studio musicianship and crowd pleasing live jams. To support their discs Moses Guest is embarking a 30-city tour starting off in Baton Rouge and traveling through Louisiana, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Montana.
Guest Motel is their first studio album since 2002's self titled double disc masterpiece which was selected as one of the best CD's of the year by Relix Magazine and received rave reviews in Performing Songwriter, Dirty Linen and The Houston Press. On Guest Motel, Moses Guest does a remarkable job at creating a very well polished studio album. It is 10 songs of jam inspired rock that flows effortlessly through the whole of the disc. Graham Guest's philosophical observations are enhanced by the rollicking groove, while the bluesy feel of the rhythm section brings about feelings of the simple life.
Edit, their debut DVD, captures the live energy of a Moses Guest show perfectly. The hometown Houston crowd swoons over the graceful singing and casual mastery of their instruments. They are able to take their songs to another level, expanding on the natural course of the compositions with musical aplomb. Their enthusiasm is palpable, and it is plainly evident why their rabid fans follow them from town to town to enjoy their down home show. Both the CD and the DVD are nationally distributed through Redeye Distribution and the Homegrown Music Network.
With these two summer releases and a coast to coast national tour Moses Guest are pulling up their Texas roots and bringing their southern jam rock to the rest of the country.

Named after founder Graham Guest's fifth generation grandfather, Moses Guest was started in 1995 in Houston, Texas. The Texas-based, Southern Rock band has just enough pop, jazz, and funk in its veins to appeal to audiences of all ages and origins. They recently garnered the "Best Rock/Pop Band" award at the 2001 Houston Press Music Awards, and have been concentrating hard on winning over its region, with frequent tours through the South and West. The band has self-produced five CDs to date on its own record label, Aufheben Records. Their latest effort, a highly-anticipated double studio disc set, was recorded at Sugar Hill Studios by Dan Workman (Destiny's Child and ZZ Top), and is scheduled to be released in Summer 2002, to be distributed by Red Eye Distribution. The band will be touring in support of this new release throughout 2002. MG believes that bands that work hard at the grass-roots level can build huge, perpetual fan bases, which provide both artistic and economic stability. Moses Guest comes out sounding ripe for today's demand for melody, integrity, and longevity.

Graham Guest Guitars, Banjo, Lead Vocals
Graham, a lover of philosophy since high school, has earned both his B.A. (Wesleyan University) and M.A. (Boston College) in philosophy. He attended the PhD program in philosophy at Tulane University, but gave it up to pursue music (though philosophical themes ring throughout his lyrics). When he returned to Houston in 1995, he realized it was easier to start a band while still a student so he attended law school at the University of Houston. Now a veteran of the Houston music scene, Graham has put together a winning combination of very talented musicians, that has become Moses Guest. |

Rick Thompson Keyboards, Vocals
After an eight-year run with the ever-popular funk band, Beat Temple, Rick joined forces with Graham in 1997, and the results have been dramatic ever since. His sense of style and harmony is reminiscent of a funkier time when Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder graced the charts. Rick's talents have won him nominations for Best Keyboard Player at the Houston Press Music Awards more than once.

James Edwards Drums, Percussion & Vocals
A jazz drummer from the age of nine, James' sense of time and rhythm reflects his years of formal training and band experience. After leaving the North Texas State University, James explored his varied musical interests in a few avante-garde jazz and pop bands in his hometown of Houston. In 1997, he was invited to keep time for this improvised-driven, groove outfit; utlizing his background with an arsenal of tempos and time signatures. His style and influences mirror those of the great Art Blakely and Tony Williams, as he gives life to the pulse of Moses Guest. |

Jeremy Horton Bass Guitar
Encouraged by his music teaching parents, Jeremy has been playing bass guitar and percussive instruments since he was fifteen. With two prior stints with local metal and funk bands, Jeremy anchors the funk-groove-rhythm section. Jeremy joined Moses Guest in 1998, made some minor adjustments to his heavy metal ways, and quickly dialed in to the spirited, improvised jam.
