They are Metro Stylee...
A New York City Ska Band who are breathing a breath of fresh air through the pollution and
into this newly expanding scene that we have come to call "third wave ska." They are young and
energetic, and they play their own original style, described by one NYC promoter as "soul garage ska."
Metro Stylee is fronted by Trisha Verdolino, whose vocal stylings are as fresh as a pepperming
stick and as peppy as a fireball. Her engaging sprite-like stage presence, and introspective lyrics
contribute to the music's emotional edge.
Metro Stylee's members are a combination of new young talent and veteran ska players from bands
such as King Chango, The Slackers, The Skunks and The Allstonians. They have played throughout
the Northeast and are swiftly establishing a following in areas including New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
1998 is the year for Metro Stylee. Their debut album was released in January on the legendary
Massachusetts-based label DVS Media. Owned and operated by Dan Vitale, lead singer of Bim Skala Bim,
DVS and it's sister label BiB records are responsible for all seven of Bim Skala Bim's albums.
Metro Stylee's album was produced by ska celebrity Vinnie Nobile (Bim Skala Bim / The Pilfers), and
contains 14 original songs. This long awaited CD will be distributed nationally. Look for it in stores
now and get up and dance to...
