    The Original Gangsters of Swing

“A lotta fun in a little plastic package... A fedora full of swing-y pop music that’s certain to keep your party jumpin’.” - Lo Fi Magazine

Hipster Daddy-O and the Handgrenades play a hybrid of swing that incorporates retro, ska, and rockabilly. Their sets consist of songs with more potency and distortion than the average swing band. Enthusiastic growing audiences across the nation have been giving their approval in spades.

“I’m tempted to label this group Mob Rock.” - Flagstaff Live!

Decked out in the dapperest of attire, Hipster Daddy-O and the Handgrenades turns swing up a notch, knocks it into a new level and according to the Missoula Independent “Attacks with a swagger a lot nastier than many of their cohorts.”

“Solid, bright and piquant.” - The Arizona Daily Star

It all started in early 1997, when Hipster Daddy- O and the Handgrenades, who hail from Tucson, AZ, played their first show at the Arizona Music Awards. That night, they appeared in front of a sold-out house, and were the only band that evening who received an encore. This would set the pace for them for the next year. They began selling out shows across Arizona and were soon signed to Slimstyle Records, the nation’s largest contemporary swing label.

“Impressive and aggressive debut... every song is excellent.” - Any Swing Goes

Self-titled "The World's Heaviest Swing Band," their tagline is just about right. Hipster Daddy- O and the Handgrenades are the epitome of modern swing. Their debut CD Armed and Swingin' is packed with thirteen originals, and consistently sells 1,000 copies each and every month as scenesters across the country are beginning to see the light.

“Go to your local record store and demand Armed and Swingin, you won’t regret it.”- Skratch Magazine

The band has received hundreds of e-mails through their web site with requests for the album and pleas for them to come and play in countless cities. Carried by The Perpetrator (Their trusty, huge RV) and armed with an arsenal of tunes, Hipster Daddy-O and the Handgrenades will not disappoint.
