'Well, I don't dress like my mom, I don't talk like my dad / One morning I find out, I've been sleeping in their bed / It's like a footprint, that's been following me around / Up and down and sideways, and all around this town.' So says 'Footprints', our first step into Amelia's dream which is rooted in reality, more like a daydream believer, knowing how things are, and what can be done to make them better. The production quality can't be made better. This is a band with a great fresh sound, a violin, and a sweet Amelia in front, vulnerable, cute, instantly wacko, a full service girl.
For me, the hit of the piece is 'Honey Dream'. I think it's swell. It has that rare ability of being a hip fairy tale, a song you want to hug. If you're a young guy with no friends, you'll fall for this voice, and you'll dream yourself... 'In my thoughts I'm in a class of sorts / Me and a bunch of pretty young tarts / And though I fade into the wall / you pick me out above them all'. And as it continues, the music swirls and surrounds you and makes you forget about everything but the song.
Also, you've never heard a sexier version of 'Evil Ways'. It's a song everyone will recognize, and is sure to be in the 3rd Austin Powers flick. Dig that flute! But the vocal insinuation... that's what makes it, babe. Listen carefully, and you'll hear the bed creaking. Outstanding.
I am looking into the Eye of the CD. I will it success success Success SUCcessssssssssssssssss
