Amelia's Dream, strip them down to their Love Tattoo.
By: Kristin Benjamin

Amelia and Harold, of Amelia's Dream, were both raised in parts of New York; Harold on Long Island and Amelia on the Upper West Side. Both had musical talent that was noticed at a young age. They both attended music related programs during high school that made their talents the center of attention; Amelia attended the prestigious Music & Art High School and Harold the Cultural Arts Center.

Amelia and Harold's acomplishments didn't stop there, she attended Hunter College where she studied art and received her degree. Harold attended New York University and attained his degree in Music Technology.

These two met in October of  '92 while taking a class in songwriting on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. This class was a colaboration workshop, this is where Amelia and Harold wrote their first song together, "Know The One You Love" a song about families, existing in many forms, from conventional to unconventional, where ever you find love, support and nurturing is where you can say you have family. "Know the one you love by the way they stay and watch over you, know the hands that hold, know the warmth that heals when the world is cold."( "Know The One You Love", Amelia's Dream)

The colaborative chemistry was so strong that Amelia and Harold formed a band, Amelia on lead vocals  and Harold on keys and vocals. They called up some friends and put together a rhythm section, becoming Amelia's Dream. Named this to remind Amelia to never give up on her dream of being a recording artist.

Their first demo was recorded in February '93, the same month they shared their first kiss (on V-Day, AWWWW!). They used the demo to book venues in NYC throughout the next year.

In the fall of '95, Amelia's Dream released their first full-length CD. The name came from a song Amelia had written about a young girl living in the streets of New York, it was decided that this would be the title of their CD, calling it Here In The Rage.

There CD became a fast-growing success among the college music scene. They took to the road in the summer of '96 for a college tour to such schools as Skidmore, James Madison University, TUFTS, and Rennselaer. To add to their excitement, they were married on October 27 of that year, and put off honeymoon plans to perform at the Philadelphia Music Conference that same year!

1999 gave birth to Love Tattoo, with music described as a mix between Sarah McLachlan and Fleetwood Mac. Track #3 is a seductive spin on the 1969 classic by Santana, "Evil Ways". This song caught the attention of ESPN2 when they licensed the song for broadcast durring the Xtreme Games of '99.

Amelia's Dream has appeared on several cable programs and have been the featured artist at many events such as AIDS Walk '99 and the New York City Marathon (playing for over 35 thousand people!). They have graced the stages at many New York City clubs like CB's Gallery, The Bitter End and The Knitting Factory, just to name a few.
